Wendy Sjaardema Nannying in a Work from Home World

Wendy Sjaardema is a CACHE certified Newborn Care Specialist (NCS) with both Master® and Elite™ NCS qualifications and a seasoned Professional Nanny with over 20 years of private childcare experience, as well as the recipient of the International Nanny Association 2021 “Nanny of the Year” (NOTY) award. Wendy started her consulting company, Nanny Consults, in 2019 with a mission of offering targeted coaching for both caregivers and parents with a focus on promoting professionalism within the private childcare industry, as well as assisting private childcare providers in creation of professional documents such as resumes and contracts. Wendy also works as the Lead Consultant for Nanniest, a growing company dedicated to supporting working parents through all their childcare needs.

Over the course of her career, Wendy has provided hands on care for more than 30 families and 40 children as an NCS/nanny and has supported countless families, nannies, newborn care specialists, postpartum doulas and others within the private caregiving field as a consultant. She works closely within nanny networks, professional organizations and agencies and is passionate about supporting, training and coaching both caregivers and their employers in the private childcare industry. She has worked as administrator of the Denver Area Nanny Association for over 10 years, leading a group of close to 2000 local nannies. She has also presented for various annual International Nanny Training Days, INA conferences, Newborn Care Solutions “Real Talk” episodes and other speaking engagements in addition to offering her time, experience and mentorship to nannies just starting out in the industry.


Heidi Chance Sex Trafficking Awareness

Detective Heidi Chance recently retired after serving 25 years with Phoenix Police Department. She spent 13 years of her career working as an undercover detective in the H.E.A.T (Human Exploitation and Trafficking) Unit. In this unit she conducted investigations targeting sex buyers and traffickers. She has also trained many officers in undercover schools and has presented on Sex Trafficking cases she’s worked across the United States sharing her experience.

Detective Chance, now retired, has been consulting law-enforcement agencies and training officers in undercover operations targeting sex buyers and traffickers, as well as other undercover operations. She has also created a course for general sex trafficking awareness for the public. The website is achanceforawareness.com.

Detective Chance, amongst others, is featured in the Frontline, PBS documentary “Sex Trafficking in America".


Christina Caple Food Ingredients and The Impact on Children's Behavior

Christina Caple (pronounced kay-pul) is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Breastfeeding Counselor. She completed her Masters Degree at the University of Alabama and her Dietetic Internship at the University of Arizona Medical Center. In her ten years as an RD, she has worked one-on-one with clients to achieve their health and wellness goals. She recently started her own practice, Hope for Healing Nutrition Co. where she continues to use her personal and professional experience to instill Hope in her clients. On a personal note, Christina is a homeschooling mom of three, avid backyard gardener and aspiring alpaca farmer!


Callista Gersich Child Led Play- Exploring Theme Weeks and Sensory Play

Callista is a certified childcare specialist and NCS. She has been a nanny in the Phoenix and surrounding areas for over 25 years. With a background in child development and child psychology, she focuses her care on early childhood development. She specializes in birth to five years old but has cared for children of all ages and walks of life. She has an excellent reputation for helping families get kids on schedules, assisting with behavior management, and producing unique and fun and thoughtful activities for a child’s brain and body development. She believes in child led and play based learning. Callista also works to coaches nannies and parents who struggle with knowing how to set up the environment to encourage a child to learn and meet their developmental milestones in the healthiest way, while having a ton of fun in the process!
